Day 24: Gladestry to Kington

We had a really short day today because the weather forecast was bad and we were in need of a break.

We walked four miles up and over the hill to Kington and I had one of the most wonderful experiences ever.

On top of the hill were more wild horses and this time with fouls. I stood amongst them and felt exhilarated, humbled and honored.

Kington is a traditional town with butchers shop, green grocers, iron mongers, newsagents etc and a grocery store like Dr Who's tardis. If you don't know what a tardis is, or who, Who is, then never mind but it was massively expansive on the inside.

We sat down and had copious cups of tea outside the museum tea shop and decided upon a bed and breakfast.

Every bed and breakfast is a little different but all offer their own pros and cons. Pubs obviously offer the pub downstairs and therefore the promise of delicious meals and beers right on the premises. There are small hotels, more likely to have baths rather than showers and wifi but aren't at all personalized. Then there are the more homely ones which tend to be the most interesting and usually offer up very personal touch. This usually includes made to order breakfasts, fresh and home grown ingredients and the opportunity to meet some interesting people and even feel like you are part of the family. Sometimes this can be a little too personal and it makes you wonder how landlords deal with constantly having complete strangers in their living room.

Talked to Curt tonight and he confirmed he is flying out tomorrow with Ivan. Cannot wait to see them.
